The Padel Lab

We fell in love with the racket sport, Padel after doing a number of product videos with Dunlop, and we were delighted to be approached by an online retailer ‘The Padel Lab’ to create a series of launch films for their website. Padel is one of the fastest growing racket sports and it was great to be able to film Team GB international players at their training centre in Essex. We created a portfolio of still images to be used in promotional material alongside a main launch film and social media trailers. A lovely project that we really enjoyed working on.

Swim England Water Polo - what are you waiting for?

Swim England tasked us with the challenge of coming up with a film to promote the sport of Water Polo to competitive swimmers and encourage them to transition to the sport for Team GB.

Bullet wrote the script for the film and pitched the idea to Swim England initially and then spent four hours filming in a swimming pool in Basingstoke with youngsters from the Swim England team. We set up underwater housings and captured a mix of photography and video on the day, to create the ‘what are you waiting for’ video and media content.

A snapshot of the script, which we initially pitched is shown here too, for interest, to show part of the process we go through in coming up with content ideas.

Dunlop stories - Alex Krol - Endeavour

After creating a number of promotional product films for Dunlop, the sports brand asked us to create a powerful brand ambassador short film, telling the story of someone who had been inspired by the world of tennis. They were open to ideas and we introduced Dunlop to Alex Krol - a man we had first met in the 2016 Invictus Games in Florida. We had been overwhelmed by his story back then, and knew he would be perfect for this brief.

He was an injured serviceman, who had found positivity and drive in wheelchair tennis and used the sport to encourage other disabled people back into the game. We reached out to him and, by fortuitous coincidence, he was running a tournament for wheelchair tennis at the time, which meant we were able to follow his journey to Oxford, Liverpool, Glasgow and onto the finals in Loughborough. We spent around eight months filming his story, interviewing the inspirational people we met along the way, hearing fascinating stories and meeting his family.

It was an incredibly emotional journey and really moving to see first hand how he used tennis to inspire others. We produced an 18 minute film for Dunlop, which is definitely worth taking the time to watch, and several trailers for the film.

Southampton FC player development camps

Southampton Football Club run holiday clubs and coaching sessions for youngsters who simply love playing football. They get to train with first class coaches, improve their football skills and have the opportunity to be spotted by scouts as future soccer stars too.

We spent a week at both the Residential and day-release development camps, filming the daily football sessions and social engagements the children have, interviewing them about their experiences and what they were enjoying about the activities. The idea was to promote the sessions, which take place both after school and during the school holidays and inspire budding young footballers to sign up and get involved.

Bare knuckle fighting - a single moment

A Southampton-based Russian boxer wanted a film to build up his presence and momentum ahead of a bare-knuckle fight in Russia. We were asked to come up with a concept that showed the power and commitment he put into his training and his determination to succeed.

We were given the license to ‘go create’ on this film, and came up with the script based on a wolf tattoo the boxer had on his chest, which we then had translated into Russian for the VoiceOver, with subtitles in English. We spent an evening in Bitz Boxing Gym, filming his moves, as well as some training locations around the city. It’s a great gritty piece, which we’re proud of as a short film in its own right!

This project also included a suite of professional still photographs, which are being used in promotional material for the fight.

We March Together - with official event partner, Vitality

Celebrating 20 years of Saints Foundation, Southampton FC’s official event partner, Vitality, sponsored a 5k walk to honour the incredible work the charity has done in Southampton over the last two decades. We filmed the walk and captured interviews with supporters along the way, encouraging them to tell their stories about how the Foundation has impacted their lives over the years. We met some inspirational people - including some familiar faces from the Saints Foundation Stories series that Bullet has been filming recently. Here is the finished article:

Solent Devils - It's Game Time

We’re big fans of Ice Hockey and when the Solent Devils, based in Gosport, reached out to us to help build excitement for their first game of the season, we couldn’t resist! Amateur sports have missed out massively during the Covid restrictions so we created a short social media trailer for the club to use to reach out to their fans and build a buzz about the game.

We came up with the concept and wrote the script, then popped along to film a training session to capture some action footage of the players - which is not as easy as it looks on slippery ice and pucks flying everywhere! Back in the safety of the studio, we recorded the VoiceOver and edited the film with a quick turnaround. The team love the finished result - and we do too!

Dunlop vs Srixon

As part of our ongoing work with Dunlop, we created a fun challenge film to show the relationship between Dunlop and Srixon. Tennis star, Jamie Murray and golfing pro, Jack Draper, led a team each to go head to head in a series of challenges based on both sports. Watch the full 14 mins to see who wins!

From one day’s filming, we created a variety of social media content to support the brand awareness campaign. We took a team of five to film the event, including a drone specialist and our still photographer, in order to provide a full package of marketing content for Dunlop.
