Kit sponsor change for Saints

When Southampton FC’s relationship with their previous sponsor suddenly ended, they needed to react quickly to announce new Main Club Partner, Sportsbet.io, ahead of the new season launch. We were asked on the Friday to come up with a concept, ready to shoot and deliver the following Monday for the press announcement on the Tuesday morning.

We got our heads together and came up with the idea of using the man responsible for team kits - Kitman Forbsey (Mark Forbes) - showing him having to quickly change the kit to display the new sponsor. We wanted to give a light-hearted view to the situation, to demonstrate that it was all under control and taken in good humour.

After a two hour shoot, we edited the film that afternoon and delivered the final version to accompany the press release, which can be seen on the club’s website: https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2020-08-25/southampton-football-club-sportsbetio-main-club-partner.

Favourite team-mate to be stuck with in Quarantine?

Which Southampton footballer would you most want to be stuck in quarantine with? Answers in the video below!

Lockdown has presented its challenges for getting content out and we’re always looking at different ways to help our clients keep up their video marketing presence. Ahead of the restart of the football season, Southampton FC wanted to release a film for one of their sponsors, Monster HydroSport. Footballers, Stuart Armstrong, Angus Gunn, Danny Ings and James Ward-Prowse agreed to be grilled on the “Monster HydroSport Hotseat”. We interviewed them on Zoom and filmed their responses to put together a main film plus a few different social media edits for the Club.

These guys are always great to work with and you can see the great team spirit from their onscreen ‘banter’. A very entertaining project to be part of and one which we were pleased to be able to turn around quickly, safely and in a cost-effective way during this current climate.

Love the Game - Nick Matthew

The latest in the series of Dunlop’s Love the Game features squash champion, Nick Matthew, looking at his story and how his dedication to do always do the best he can has enabled him to reach the top of his game.

For this film, we interviewed Nick Matthew and created the entire film using previous stock footage, edited together to support the narrative from the interview. A short social media teaser and full 2.5 minute film was produced as part of the Love the Game campaign.

Dunlop Love the Game - Lockdown Film

We have been working with Dunlop on a series of ‘Love the Game’ videos and worked with them to produce a quick ‘lockdown’ version; combining footage we’d previously captured and video that the players had sent in from their homes. The underlying message tells the story of passion and love for the game, which continues even from home.

Even though this particular film is centred around racket sports, the message is relatable to everyone. We scored the soundtrack and worked remotely with Alexia Kombou to create the perfect voiceover.

Love the Game - Patty Llaguno

As part of the Dunlop ‘Love the Game’ series, our next story features Patty Llaguno - who achieved number one ranking at the 2010 and 2014 World Padel Championships. We interviewed this inspiring sportswoman last year at the Padel championships in Madrid and asked her about her road to success and what influenced her along the way.

This project was part of the Dunlop Galatica launch shoot, which included teasers and stories for the new Padel bat release - two of these featuring Patty are shown below. The full interview was conducted in Spanish with the help of an interpreter and then we worked with the translated version to provide a subtitled narrative to the story.

What an amazing person she was to meet and it’s no wonder that she continues to be top of her game!

Love the Game - Ramiro Moyano

Dunlop is aiming to raise the profile of lesser known sports and is releasing a ‘Love the Game’ series - telling the story of individual athletes at the top of their game and showing the dedication and passion that goes into learning the sport.

Padel is one of these sports and alongside the new racket launch, we met up with the Argentinian champion, Ramiro Moyano to tell his story during the recent World Padel Tour in Madrid. The interview was conducted in Spanish, with the help of an interpreter and we translated the full dialogue into English to use as a narrative for the film.

We love telling these stories and working with athletes who clearly love the game! Look out for more in this series coming soon!

Ryan 'the Piranha' Garner comeback campaign

Look out boxing world - Ryan 'The Piranha' Garner is making a comeback!

Here's one of the trailers we created as part of the 'comeback campaign' for Southampton boxer, Ryan Garner who has been out of the ring for 14 months. We produced video content to hype up his return to the sport, and he went on to win against Jamie Quinn at Bethnal Green’s famous York Hall venue in February 2020.

Dunlop Padel Racket Launch

Part of our ongoing work with Dunlop is to promote the new padel racket series - a relatively new sport, which is quickly gathering momentum! It’s fast-paced, great fun to watch and has some creative rules which make for a very entertaining sport. For this project we headed to Madrid for the World Padel Tour and spent two days filming the top padel players. We created content for the new racket launch and interviewed the top players to create further case study content, which will be released shortly.

The padel project was a full videography and photography package for the launch, combining both stills and videos in the final edits. Our photos will be used in the professional campaign that will be released later on in the year year, alongside the teaser, launch and case study films.
