Saints Bar Promotion

Saints Bar is a new package offered by Southampton FC Hospitality, where fans can head before the match to enjoy inclusive drinks, food and entertainment as part of a pre-paid package. The football ground asked Bullet to create a short promo video to launch this new service.

We worked with a couple of actors to set the scene for enjoying all the elements of the Saints Bar and shot it in a live match environment. This video went out on the football club’s social media accounts and website and the package, which was very well received, has since sold out seasonally.

Dunlop multi-sport racket launches

We’re delighted introduce our latest client, Dunlop, who we’ve been working with over the past few months to create launch content for a new racket series across three different sports - tennis, squash and padel (a sport we knew nothing about but are now massive fans!) .

Our initial brief took us to Nice and the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy; a world-renowned training centre founded by tennis coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, who has coached many tennis stars over the years, including Serena Williams since 2012. Here we filmed players using the new SX racket series, capturing a wide range of content to be used in multiple online campaigns in the months ahead. We interviewed Patrick himself, which was an incredible honour, and used his words to provide the narrative for some of the films. Whilst we can’t release all of the content, we can show you this film, which we produced as a trailer for the product launch. Other films produced as part of this campaign include a variety of teasers for social media, sales films and product launch films.

Our second project was to launch a new squash racket and this involved a trip to Hull (less glamorous location but equally fascinating!), where the British Championships were taking place. We filmed the top squash players in action and interviewed Ali Farag - the world number 1 squash player. As well as producing promotional launch content, Dunlop wanted to create case studies of the top athletes they sponsor, so Ali Farag was perfect for this. It was so interesting to meet him, learn about his background, his ethos and it wasn’t hard to see why he is top of his game.

This is the trailer and full film for the Ali Farag case study ‘Love the Game’, featured in Dunlop’s marketing. The new racket launch will come out later in the year.

The third project we’ve been working on with Dunlop is to promote the new padel racket series. We didn’t know much about the sport beforehand but love it now! It’s fast paced, great fun to watch and has some creative rules which make for a very entertaining sport. For this project we headed to Madrid for the World Padel Tour and spent two days filming the top padel players. We created content for the new racket launch and interviewed the top players to create further case study content - the only challenge this time was that the interviews had to be conducted in Spanish! Thankfully we had an expert interpreter, who transcribed and translated the whole interview - and since adding the subtitles and working on the edit, our Spanish is getting bueno!

Galatica Racket Launch

The padel project was a full videography and photography package for the launch, combining both stills and videos in the final edits. Our photos will be used in the professional campaign that will be released later on next year, alongside the teaser, launch and case study films. Here’s the launch of the new Galatica padel bat.

Throughout the campaigns, we’ve worked closely with the in-house global marketing team at Dunlop, who have been brilliant at coming up with concepts and describing their vision. We made sure we gathered a great deal of content in Nice, Hull and Madrid to have enough footage to slowly release a variety of edits in campaigns over the next year to launch the new products.

Launch of the the new Kingfisher 76 Ale

Southampton FC asked Bullet to create a promotional video to announce Kingfisher Beer UK as its Official Beer Partner. We went to St Mary’s Stadium to film a group of competition winners, who had been invited to have a beer talk by Kingfisher and sample the new ‘76’ ale, which had been brewed exclusively for match days at Southampton FC.

Named 76 after the year the club raised the FA Cup trophy, fans were surprised with a visit by the 1976 Saints Manager, Lawrie McMenemy who had the honour of pulling the first pint and raising a toast to the lads of ‘76.

This project had a very quick turnaround from filming on the Monday night, to be edited and launched on the Wednesday in time for Saints’ first home game against Liverpool.

The film was released on Southampton Football Club’s website and social media channels and achieved more than 18,000 views from the Facebook teaser alone.

Fight scene and sound layering packs a mean punch!

We’re very proud of our latest film for JH Action Fight Choreography, which showcases their skills in a bid to land them an exciting new project in the world of fight scene choreography.

Fight scenes themselves are particularly technical scenes to film: This scene was carefully choreographed and our production team worked closely with JH Action in the initial run throughs ensuring our movements could be integrated. We constructed a low key lighting setup which complemented the narrative of the project, this was key to accentuate the overall mood. From working with many of the actors before we knew they would bring energy and intensity throughout every take, which is why we made the decision to shoot handheld with a higher shutter speed, in turn this choice heightened the fight whilst also bringing the viewer into the scene. Our new camera - the Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K - was a particularly nifty device to use on this shoot (despite its less catchy name!) .

Post production is where we took the scene to the next level - specifically in this case, with enhanced sound design. The landing of each punch, the impact of the crossbar, the break of the arm is given multiple layers to enhance the realism throughout; we want the viewer to feel every hit as they watch.

These skills are totally transferable across a multitude of industries - whether it’s filming a sporting event, launching a new power tool, or the hit of a tennis racket. Sound design is not something to be underestimated in post-production, if you want to deliver a message that punches above its weight.

Barbell Division - size matters

The Barbell Division - a local conditioning gym was moving to new premises, and wanted to create excitement and noise through a series of social media videos about their new, larger gym opening up in Southampton.

Their brief to Bullet was ‘we need more space’ and asked the team to come up with creative content that got that message across.

We produced three ‘day in the life’ style videos, which each showed the gym goers attempting to go about their training, but poor Mikey, Bullet’s latest member of the team kept getting in the way. This is all acting and visual effects, so please be assured that no Mikey was hurt in the process! Look out for the ‘Mikey Fights Back’ video coming soon!

Libby Pearse Design - Autumn / Winter Collection launch

Local accessories designer, Libby Pearse, asked Bullet to help her create video content to launch her new collection for autumn / winter 2019, with the aim of attracting retailers to stock her range of designs.

As the range was entitled ‘Into the Woods’, we headed off to the New Forest to create some still photography and video content that reflected the designs in terms of the setting and light. We’re always keen to support local Hampshire businesses, so sourced a local model and make-up artist for the shoot.

We had it in mind to create a full range of media content - from teasers to insta stories, videos for Facebook banners and short promotional films to give an idea of the quality product. We worked closely with Libby, who chose two scarves from the collection to focus on, and made sure the we got the right look and feel for each scarf design, adjusting the light and backdrop accordingly.

This is an exciting new launch for Libby Pearse, who has some great ideas and great designs, and we’re sure she’ll do incredibly well.

Here is the full video marketing campaign that we created for the collection launch and a behind the scenes edit:

Crazy M - Children's Entertainer

Crazy M is one of the most popular and well-respected children’s entertainers on the South Coast and we were delighted to create video content for her social media campaign to give viewers an idea of what to expect from her parties.

We filmed a live children’s party from set up to finish - which was challenging in itself! Nothing was staged, we couldn’t interrupt the show and had the added challenge of interviewing young children, which always makes life interesting! We captured the action as it happened, just as we do with live event filming, then put together a main 1 minute film, plus 3 social media teasers. Energy and fun were the top messages to get across, and there was plenty of both to work with.

A massive Crazy M thumbs up for this fantastic series of videos! I hear it’s never easy filming with children (or rabbits!) - and you handled them so professionally! You just got on with the job on the day, adapted as the party flowed and blended into the background so it was a totally natural event. Thank you so much, don’t say sausages!

Alex Parsons - Personal Trainer Launch

Fitness expert, Alex Parsons was setting up a new mobile Personal Training company in the Sussex area and asked Bullet to create some cool, snappy content to use for his social media launch campaign.

We headed down to the beach for an afternoon to shoot some action shots with one of his clients, and from this footage created a full series social media videos - including four 8-second countdown to launch videos for instagram, a selection of mini teasers for use throughout the campaign, as well as a 30-second and main 1-minute film to showcase his product offering.

The idea of the campaign was to gather excitement and interest about the launch with the countdown, then push out a variety of video content across all social media platforms, which then in turn brought relevant traffic to the main, explanatory video on the website.

This is a great example of maximising the content that can be created out of filming in just a short space of time. Although the filming took place in one session, each of the videos have different message to get the most out of the campaign.
